Poem: “Star-Spangled Poet” by Karl Wenclas

american-flag

IN LOOKING for a poem to celebrate the 4th, New Pop Lit‘s chief editor realized he’d recorded one himself. FYI: It’s a trifle sarcastic. To keep him away from the microphone, send us your own recorded verse! Rants, agonies, recitations, comedies, or other “spoken word.” To: newpoplitATgmailDOTcom.

(NOTE:  The opening to this poem is supposed to be a rocket. A failed one obviously.)
